The word "industry" can invoke a cityscape when you hear it. Since the industry is nearby tied to factories, the images are suitable. Working in an industrial workplace does not mean sitting in office chairs and having meetings.

An industrial workplace is typically noisy. The sound of machinery running is operable throughout the building.
