Retailer sparks GTA 6 price speculation | News.az

A fresh listing on a digital key marketplace has fueled new chatter around how much GTA 6 might cost at launch. With roughly nine months left before the next Grand Theft Auto is expected to arrive, Rockstar Games still hasn’t revealed a price or opened preorders, leaving fans to parse any hint they can find.

A surprise storefront sighting

Over the weekend, a listing for the Xbox Series X|S version of GTA 6 briefly surfaced on the digital storefront Loaded (previously known as CDKeys) at £89.99. The page was quickly switched to a “Coming Soon” status, but not before keen-eyed fans took note.

The same storefront also displayed a PC version priced at £60.99, with a note indicating activation through the Rockstar Games Launcher. That detail immediately raised eyebrows: Rockstar has not formally announced a PC edition, making any PC listing—price included—highly uncertain at this stage.

Digital keys only—no discs here

Loaded specializes in selling digital codes rather than boxed copies, so these listings referred solely to downloadable versions. If you’re hunting for physical discs, they wouldn’t appear on this kind of marketplace in the first place.

Placeholder pricing, or a preview of what’s coming?

Retailers and key sellers often use temporary or estimated prices long before publishers finalize details. That’s the most likely explanation here, as Rockstar has not confirmed any official pricing tiers for GTA 6. Once the publisher locks it in, expect consistent pricing to roll out across major retailers and platforms simultaneously.

Still, the figures aren’t coming out of nowhere. Industry watchers have broadly floated a standard price somewhere around £70, with speculation that a premium tier could push closer to (or even past) £100. It wouldn’t be surprising to see multiple editions—think Deluxe, Special, or Ultimate—bundling digital bonuses like in-game currency, cosmetics, early access windows, or story add-ons.

When do preorders start?

Preorders remain a mystery. The safe bet is a summer window, timed with a marketing push and fresh details on editions and bonuses. Until then, “notify me” buttons and placeholder pages will likely continue popping up.

What this means for players

  • Official price and preorder timing: Not announced by Rockstar yet.
  • Retailer listings: Likely placeholders; treat with caution.
  • PC version: Unconfirmed by Rockstar, so any PC pricing is speculative.
  • Editions: Expect multiple digital bundles that could raise the top-end price.

Bottom line: Don’t read too much into early storefront numbers. They can shift dramatically before launch, and only Rockstar’s formal reveal will settle the debate. For now, consider any price tags you see as educated guesses rather than a guarantee.
