Reliance Jio: New voice-only prepaid plans launched with long validity
Reliance Jio has introduced a range of voice-focused prepaid plans for customers who primarily need calling and SMS services rather than mobile data. The new options offer validity periods ranging from 22 days to 336 days, addressing demand from senior citizens, younger users and subscribers who rely on Wi-Fi for internet access.
The plans include unlimited voice calls and a fixed SMS allowance. Select long-validity packs also provide access to JioTV and a JioAI Cloud subscription.
Jio’s long-validity voice plans
The most expensive option costs Rs 1,748 and remains valid for 336 days, or roughly 11 months. It includes unlimited voice calls, 3,600 SMS messages, access to JioTV and a JioAI Cloud subscription.
For customers seeking a shorter commitment, Jio is offering an Rs 448 plan with 84 days of validity. This pack provides unlimited calls, 1,000 SMS messages, JioTV access and a JioAI Cloud subscription.
Monthly and short-term options
Jio has also announced several lower-priced packs:
- Rs 197 plan: Valid for one calendar month, with unlimited voice calls and 300 SMS messages.
- Rs 196 plan: Valid for 30 days, with unlimited calls and 300 SMS messages.
- Rs 177 plan: Valid for 28 days, with unlimited calls and 300 SMS messages.
- Rs 147 plan: Valid for 22 days, with unlimited calls and 300 SMS messages.
The calendar-month option may be useful for subscribers who prefer a renewal date that remains consistent each month, while the 28-day and 30-day packs provide alternatives for customers accustomed to conventional prepaid cycles.
How Jio compares with Airtel and Vi
Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have also introduced voice-oriented prepaid packs. Their calendar-month, 28-day and 84-day options are generally priced slightly higher than comparable Jio plans.
However, Airtel and Vi offer longer annual validity. Their Rs 1,849 packs provide unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS messages for 365 days. By comparison, Jio’s Rs 1,748 pack is cheaper but runs for 336 days rather than a full year.
Customers should compare the total validity, SMS limits and bundled digital services before recharging. They should also confirm the latest plan details through the operator’s official app or website, as prepaid tariffs and benefits can change over time.
