Apple’s Quirky iPhone Pocket Is Officially Gone

Earlier this season, Apple introduced a strikingly unconventional accessory: a knitted phone holder called the iPhone Pocket. It blended a ribbed, open-knit silhouette with a fashion-forward vibe, fusing retro gadget nostalgia with modern streetwear flair.

Pricing started near $150, and it wasn’t a mass-market launch. The item was available only in a handful of flagship stores — ten locations — with online ordering open to shoppers in several major markets around the world.

It came in two size options, with the shorter version offered in eight colors and the longer one in three, suggesting a small but intentional production run. Within days of going on sale, the product sold out across channels. Online stock disappeared quickly in the United States, and stores that carried it were limited to a handful of locations, notably one prominent flagship that kept it in inventory for a little longer.

By the following week, the fashion accessory was effectively out of stock worldwide. Some markets still showed limited options for a time, but those too vanished as demand outpaced supply. There’s little chance of a second drop in the near term; if Apple ever planned a re-release, signs would likely show up as longer delivery windows rather than a full sell-out in days.

In the wake of its disappearance, a variety of listings appeared on resale sites. Some sellers offered real units, while others pushed knit straps styled to resemble the original. The latter, sometimes marketed as “inspired by” or “compatible with” the design, came with the usual caveats: crowded marketplaces, inflated prices, and the risk of counterfeits.

As with many limited-edition curios, there’s no simple path to a bargain for a genuine piece. A few resellers may present alternatives that echo the look, but the exact original remains scarce. If the fashion-forward vibe of the iPhone Pocket caught your eye, there are still plenty of knit-accessory options that capture a similar aesthetic—just be mindful of what you’re buying and read the product notes carefully.

The iPhone Pocket is now a notable footnote in Apple-accessory history—a quirky experiment that highlighted how a bold, fashion-forward piece can capture attention even when its production run is brief. It’s a reminder that tech and style sometimes collide in the most unexpected ways, sparking conversations about what “worth it” means in wearable tech and collectible accessories.
