SaGa Emerald Beyond Lets You Forge Your Own Tale, Out Now On Android

The much-anticipated arrival of the latest chapter in the SaGa series is here – SaGa Emerald Beyond has officially launched, bringing its unique blend of adventure and storytelling to gamers across a variety of platforms, including Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and 4, and PC. Offered by Square Enix for $49.99, this title promises a deep, immersive experience that is faithful to the SaGa ethos yet ventures into new, unexplored territories.

The game sets players on an intriguing journey in Capitol City, thrusting them into the midst of a conspiracy where the city’s president narrowly avoids an assassination. Players assemble a team of six heroes, each bringing their own backstory and abilities, to explore 17 diverse worlds. Each of these realms is interconnected through a mysterious dimension known as the Beyond, with paths illuminated by enigmatic Emerald Waves that guide players through a multitude of quests.

The cast of characters in SaGa Emerald Beyond is as diverse as the worlds they explore. Players will meet Tsunanori Mido, a young prodigy with the power to balance the worlds; Ameya Aisling, a witch-in-training on a quest to reclaim her lost magic; Siugnas, the vampire king fighting to reclaim his throne; Diva No. 5, a robotic songstress on a quest to find her voice and original body; Bonnie Blair, an ex-marine with a rugged past; and Formina Franklyn, a sharpshooter with unmatched precision. Together, this eclectic group embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery behind the assassination attempt, all while navigating their personal quests for redemption and discovery.

The gameplay of SaGa Emerald Beyond is rooted in strategic, turn-based combat, with a shared resource pool known as BP driving the actions of party members. The game allows for a rich variety of attacks and strategies, including Martial Arts, Conditional Techs, and the use of dual-wield weapons, ensuring each encounter can be approached in multiple ways depending on the composition of your team.

This release marks an important milestone for the SaGa franchise, celebrating its 35th anniversary. Development of SaGa Emerald Beyond began shortly after the completion of SaGa: Scarlet Grace in 2017, building on the series’ legacy while introducing new innovations to delight longtime fans and newcomers alike.

For those eager to embark on this journey, SaGa Emerald Beyond is now available for download from the Google Play Store. Additionally, fans located in Asia can look forward to the release of a physical edition, though details remain forthcoming.

With its rich storytelling, expansive world-building, and deep, engaging combat system, SaGa Emerald Beyond is poised to be a standout title in the series. Whether you’re a veteran of the SaGa games or new to the series, there’s never been a better time to dive into the adventures that await.
