Stock prices for gasoline and diesel fuel have decreased in Russia
Fuel prices on Russia’s St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange showed mixed but mostly downward movement over the past week, with Ai-92 gasoline and off-season diesel both becoming cheaper, according to calculations based on exchange trading data.
The average exchange price for Ai-92 gasoline in the European part of Russia fell by 0.3%. Over the period from October 5 to October 9, the territorial index dropped to 69,377 rubles per ton, compared with 69,572 rubles per ton during the previous working week, from September 28 to October 2.
Diesel fuel posted a more noticeable decline. Off-season diesel prices decreased by 3.2% over the same period, signaling weaker pricing dynamics in that segment of the fuel market.
At the same time, not all fuel products followed the downward trend. Ai-95 gasoline rose by 1.4%, reaching an average exchange price of 70,910 rubles per ton. A week earlier, its price stood at 69,904 rubles per ton.
The latest trading data highlights a split in Russia’s fuel market: while Ai-92 gasoline and diesel became cheaper, Ai-95 continued to gain value. Such fluctuations on the exchange are closely watched because they can reflect broader supply-demand changes in the domestic petroleum market.
