Portable mission partner environment with AI and zero-trust networking demonstrated by GDIT – Military Embedded Systems
FALLS CHURCH, Virginia. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) demonstrated its portable Vion Mission Partner Environment during the Olympus Fires 2026 military exercise in the Pacific region, according to a company statement.
The suitcase-sized platform brings together coalition communications, artificial intelligence, and zero-trust cybersecurity capabilities. It is intended to support rapid deployment in austere locations and other environments where connectivity may be limited or disrupted.
Vion provides AI-enabled language translation alongside voice, video, chat, and email collaboration tools. The kit also includes AI-assisted software-development functions, enabling deployed personnel to access communications and computing capabilities closer to the tactical edge.
During the exercise, GDIT integrated Vion with its Defense Operations Grid-Mesh Accelerator, or DOGMA. The AI system combines sensor information supplied by multiple mission partners and presents it through a shared interface with analytics, helping coalition users develop a common operational picture.
According to GDIT, the platform can ingest and distribute information from sources such as uncrewed aircraft surveillance feeds, maritime sensors, and satellite imagery. This data can then be shared among authorized coalition partners while applying zero-trust security controls.
Vion is designed to connect tactical-edge users with enterprise systems while remaining portable enough for fast field deployment. Its demonstration at Olympus Fires 2026 highlighted GDIT’s effort to improve secure data exchange and interoperability among military partners operating across dispersed locations.
