Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta Extended by 24 Hours, Ends Just a Day Before the Battlefield 6 Release Date – IGN

Black Ops 7’s open beta is sticking around a little longer. Activision has added a full day to the test, now scheduled to close at 9am PT on Thursday, October 9—just 24 hours before Battlefield 6 hits shelves on October 10.

The extension arrives with fresh content and a few notable tweaks. A sixth multiplayer map, Toshin, is now in rotation, and new “Open” playlists are live for players who prefer a looser, old-school style of matchmaking that places far less emphasis on strict skill tiers. It’s a more chaotic, jump-right-in flavor of MP that contrasts with tighter, SBMM-heavy queues.

To sweeten the final push, Double XP and Double Weapon XP are active through the end of the beta. That should make it easier to reach the level 30 cap, experiment with a wider spread of weapons and gear, and accelerate unlocks for attachments and Overclocks before the servers wind down.

What’s live in the beta now

  • Multiplayer maps: Toshin (new), Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Imprint, The Forge
  • Zombies: Vandorn Farm (playlist extended through the end of the beta)
  • Modes and playlists: Open Moshpit, Moshpit, Open Hardcore Moshpit, Search & Destroy (new), Training Course

Anti-cheat and PC requirements

On the security front, the publisher reports rapid detection across the test, claiming 97% of cheaters were flagged within 30 minutes of logging in and that fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reached a live match. PC players should note that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be enabled to participate, reflecting the series’ ongoing push toward stricter platform-level protections.

Key dates to know

  • Beta end: 9am PT, October 9
  • Battlefield 6 release: October 10
  • Black Ops 7 full release: November 14

The timing of the extension keeps Black Ops 7 in the spotlight right up to Battlefield’s launch window, stoking a familiar FPS rivalry. Battlefield 6 has dealt with recurring leaks throughout 2025, with chatter suggesting some players may have accessed copies ahead of release.

If you’re eyeing a final run, make time for Toshin, dive into the Open playlists for a throwback matchmaking feel, and cash in on the extended 2XP to polish your loadouts before the beta wraps. With the full version set for November 14, this extended window offers one last chance to experiment, refine, and get ready for launch.
