Gimenez Unveils Milan Training Rituals and Intensive Analysis Practices

Santiago Gimenez, known for his determination and meticulous approach to self-improvement, has shared insights into his training habits at Milan. The forward has introduced a rigorous routine that includes early arrival for team practices and comprehensive analysis sessions to refine his skills, aspiring to motivate his fellow teammates to adopt similar disciplines.

Adjusting to life at Milan following his prominent move from Feyenoord has been smooth for the Mexican international. Before departing Feyenoord, Gimenez initiated a ‘breakfast club.’ This gathering saw players meeting early for training well ahead of the usual breakfast schedule. By the time of his departure, nearly the entire squad had embraced this early morning routine.

At his current club, Gimenez continues this proactive tradition at the facilities in Milanello. However, he stands solitary in this endeavor for the moment, hoping to gradually inspire others to join him in seizing the day at dawn.

“At Feyenoord, there were initially just two or three participants in our breakfast club. By the end, nearly everyone joined to train before breakfast. Currently, at Milanello, I’m the lone participant, but I’m confident others will gradually join,” remarked the striker, speaking confidently about his mission to galvanize the squad.

Beyond the pitch, Gimenez works closely with a personal video analyst after every match, meticulously reviewing his performances to hone his craft.

“I strive to start training fully prepared and geared up to address where I’ve fallen short. The notes application on my phone is crucial for video analysis and performance evaluation. After each match, I document what I performed well and where improvements are needed, assigning a grade to myself,” he explained.

His commitment to continuous improvement doesn’t stop there. Gimenez’s partnership with his analyst involves a comprehensive video analysis process, where each game is condensed into a succinct fifteen-minute review.

“My video analyst springs into action post-match, compiling a concise video summary of the game. It includes all my moves, highlighting successes and suggesting areas like opting for a right-footed shot in certain scenarios,” he shared.

In addition to video reviews, Gimenez has bolstered his analytical prowess by undertaking a course focused on interpreting statistics, ensuring that his decisions and strategies are data-driven. Every quarter, he assembles extensive statistical reports on various performance metrics, including duels, dribbles, and shots.

“By closely observing trends in these statistics, whether ascending or declining, I can pinpoint the specific areas needing attention and improvement,” he added, underlining his data-centric approach to personal advancement.

With his unwavering commitment to excellence and an analytical eye on progress, Santiago Gimenez is not only setting benchmarks for himself but is on a mission to foster a culture of personal development and a competitive edge within the Milan squad.
