Peraso Delivers Initial Production Shipment of 60GHz Modules for Drone IFF Systems

San Jose, CA — April 14, 2026. Peraso Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSO) has shipped an initial, limited production run of its proprietary 60GHz mmWave modules to Israeli defense contractor InTACT, signaling a key production-readiness milestone for the company’s technology in military Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) applications.

The integrated solution marries Peraso’s 60GHz hardware and beamforming antenna technology with specialized software implementing InTACT’s IFF protocol. Designed with strict size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements in mind, the modules target battery-operated platforms such as small drones and infantry-carried systems. InTACT says it is in discussions with potential customers for its drone IFF offering.

Why it matters

As drones proliferate on the battlefield, reliable, low-profile IFF becomes a necessity to reduce fratricide risk and enhance situational awareness. Peraso’s 60GHz mmWave approach is engineered to minimize detectability through narrow, steerable beams while meeting the tight power budgets of unmanned and dismounted systems.

What Peraso and InTACT built

  • SWaP-optimized 60GHz mmWave modules tailored for battery-powered drone and warfighter IFF devices.
  • Integrated IFF protocol software from InTACT, aligned to mission-specific requirements.
  • Power-reduction algorithms to extend field endurance on compact power sources.
  • Beamforming antenna technology designed to lower the probability of detection versus broad-beam RF approaches.

Peraso and InTACT engineers collaborated on end-to-end requirements, refining both hardware and software to meet operational demands. The result, the companies say, is a purpose-built system for contested environments where size, power draw, and emissions control are critical.

What they’re saying

“There is an immediate demand for an IFF system like this, and Peraso’s technical team has done an outstanding job of adapting our technology for military applications,” said Ronald Glibbery, CEO of Peraso. He added that the company “significantly reduced the size, weight, and power” to enable battery-powered operation for drones and warfighters, bringing the platform to production readiness on an accelerated timeline.

Meir Rappart, CEO of InTACT, highlighted the partnership’s momentum since 2024: “Our system knowledge, coupled with Peraso’s 60GHz semiconductor and software expertise, has yielded what we believe is a significant advancement in IFF technology.”

Market outlook

Initial deployments will focus on drone IFF systems, with InTACT working to convert active engagements into commercial sales. For Peraso, the shipment marks a step toward broader military adoption of its mmWave portfolio and potential follow-on orders, contingent on performance in trials and manufacturing scale-up.
