NAG’s Friday Wishlist Sale: Cheap Games, Terrible Decisions and Absolutely No Team Loyalty < NAG

Welcome back to our chaotic Friday Wishlist Sale, where common sense goes to die, discount stickers start fistfights, and we publicly interrogate the sort of game choices that make HR nervous. Imagine a shopping guide run by cousins at a family reunion after someone hid the snacks and replaced them with sarcasm.

This week’s drama: Miachu appears to have traded the postcard perfection of Norway for extra time with lordraz0r. True love is making bold sacrifices, and sometimes that sacrifice is an entire peninsula. lordraz0r, against every prediction, picked a strategy banger. Sock finally chose something that is actually discounted. BigMacDaddy grabbed the one where a guy voluntarily rolls in mud for national security. Cody remains an enigma. And Arielle? Still immaculate taste. Obviously.

Somehow, out of this hurricane of bad decisions, we found five games at prices so good you’ll forgive yourself later. Probably.

Possessor(s)

Price: R23 (down from R94)

Why Arielle wants it: Hand-drawn animation that slaps, oppressive sci-fi weirdness, and two reluctant roommates trapped in the same body? Sold. Toss in derelict aquariums, toppled towers, and glorious air-juggle combos, and it practically hit “Add to Wishlist” by itself.

What it is: A razor-sharp action side-scroller set in a quarantined metropolis ruined by dimensional nonsense. You control Luca and the entity hitchhiking in her ribs, Rhem, navigating an interconnected map full of secrets, survivors, and things that want you dead. The combat splices precise platforming with ground-to-air strings, while new abilities unlock detours you missed the first time. Stylish, sinister, and very punchy.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

Price: R299 (down from R399)

Why lordraz0r wants it: Some games live rent-free in your skull for decades. This looks like a full-on pilgrimage back to huge armies, galaxy-brain spellcasting, and those turn-based battles where one brilliant move redeems several terrible ones.

What it is: A turn-based strategy RPG set in a classic fantasy sandbox. Scout the map, hoard resources, expand cities, recruit mythic critters, and command them on tactical grids while your hero slings fight-swinging spells. Part empire-builder, part adventure, part “just one more turn” across campaigns, skirmishes, co-op, and PvP.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection

Price: R110 (down from R739)

Why Sock wants it: All school years in one chunk of brick-built chaos, with slapstick that lands for every age. The early-game mayhem alone sticks in the brain like your first wobbly bike ride—messy, memorable, and absurdly fun.

What it is: A bundle of the complete LEGO wizarding adventures, retelling the saga with pantomime storytelling, sight gags, and levels packed with collectibles. It’s accessible, co-op friendly, and quietly brilliant at turning famous scenes into comedic playgrounds.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

Price: R599 (down from R1499)

Why BigMacDaddy wants it: A stealth landmark returns with modern visuals, 3D audio, and thoughtful quality-of-life tweaks. The Cold War op is as emotionally gripping as it is gloriously unhinged, and its survival systems still feel ahead of their time.

What it is: A stealth-action classic rebuilt. Crawl through hostile jungle terrain, manage injuries, blend with your surroundings, and master CQC while adapting to a living environment that’s always watching. The result helped define the genre—and still commands it.

Mistfall Hunter

Price: R215 (down from R239)

Why Cody and Miachu want it: Cody’s chasing the high of a great extraction RPG. Miachu craves punishing combat plus co-op chaos. This promises both: sweat-inducing runs where loot matters and mistakes get you turned into somebody else’s payday.

What it is: A dark-fantasy extraction RPG. Choose a class, gear up, venture into fog-choked zones, and tangle with monsters, traps, and other players. Survive, escape, and bank your haul—or lose it all and start plotting revenge.

Final thoughts (and zero fiscal responsibility)

There you have it: five discounts, six enablers, and nothing resembling discipline. Arielle chased art and horror. lordraz0r returned to a tactical comfort food that never truly left. Sock finally mastered the concept of “less than before.” BigMacDaddy keeps spiritually vibing with men who belly-crawl through foliage. Cody and Miachu picked the kind of extraction grinder that ruins friendships in the best possible way.

None of us needs more games. Our backlogs are already archaeological sites. But these prices? Outrageously persuasive. Until next Friday, curate your wishlist wisely, shop recklessly, and remember: the only thing cheaper than a good sale is the dignity we surrender when someone checks our wishlists out loud.
