Open Heaven 29 April 2025 – Guard Your Freedom To Worship – Internewscast Journal
“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.” – Psalm 124:7 (KJV)
Experiencing the liberty to worship freely is an invaluable gift, but not all enjoy this freedom. When people cannot worship God as they should, their spirits are essentially held captive. A historic example of this struggle is seen when Moses was tasked by God to liberate the Israelites from Egypt, telling Pharaoh, “Let my people go, so they can worship me.”
In some countries, the freedom to worship as one wishes is upheld and cherished, allowing believers to freely gather and express their faith. Unfortunately, this is not the reality everywhere. In certain places, governmental mandates impose restrictions on religious practices, sometimes compelling leaders to align with policies directly opposing their beliefs. For instance, some clergymen have faced repercussions for using traditional forms of address that don’t conform to certain social norms. These actions aim to sway religious worship towards what secular authorities see fit.
It’s essential to stand firm in one’s faith, resisting the adoption of practices that deviate from divine standards. Conforming to such practices equates to a form of bondage, hindering the acceptance of a fulfilling and devoted life in service to God. It’s crucial for believers to protect both their faith and their spiritual boundaries from such encroachments.
Many Christians, under the guise of compliance with policies, have inadvertently embraced worldly ways. It’s imperative to pray fervently for the dissolution of these metaphorical chains. Just as when the Israelites were granted freedom, Pharaoh’s directive was to “Go and worship God as you desire.” This liberation must resonate within us today.
Sometimes, policies threatening spiritual liberty may not seem harmful initially, demanding believers to remain vigilant and discerning. Soft complacency can lead to a numbing of the conscience, as described in spiritual texts, leading people away from their moral compass. Any aspect not aligned with divine intent should matter to the faithful just as it matters to their Creator.
If you’re feeling constrained and unable to worship with a pure heart, there’s hope for deliverance. May your spirit find freedom akin to a bird set free from its cage, embracing the opportunity to worship in truth and spirit.
For those who enjoy the privilege of worshipping openly, a heart full of gratitude is essential. Concurrently, hold in your thoughts and prayers those who are still striving for such freedom.
