Samsung Expands One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI Features to Older Models

In an exciting update for Samsung Galaxy users, the tech giant has announced the expansion of its sought-after Galaxy AI features, initially launched with the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year. Samsung is now officially extending these advanced functionalities to its older generation devices, including the Galaxy S22, Fold 4, Flip 4, and Tab S8.

One UI 6.1 Bringing Fresh Experiences

The inclusion of Galaxy AI features has been a major highlight for the Galaxy S24 series, showcasing Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user experiences across its device ecosystem. Following a successful roll-out to the Galaxy S23 series, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 last month, Samsung is set to further its reach.

In a recent announcement, Samsung disclosed plans to bring the One UI 6.1 update, along with its suite of Galaxy AI features, to more devices from its 2022 lineup starting in May. Users of the Galaxy S22 series and other select models from the same year can expect to see the update roll out “early” next month.

Eligible Devices for the Update

Among the devices slated to receive this update are:

  • Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy Fold 4
  • Galaxy Flip 4
  • Galaxy Tab S8

Additionally, there are rumors that Samsung may also extend One UI 6.1 and select Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy S21 series and other 2021 models, though the company has not made any official announcements.

What to Expect with Galaxy AI on Older Devices

For owners of the mentioned devices, the arrival of Galaxy AI features promises an almost complete upgrade to their user experience. The suite coming to the Galaxy S22 and other mentioned devices includes features designed to optimize performance, enhance communication, and streamline day-to-day use.

However, it’s worth noting that the Instant Slow-Mo feature, exclusive to the latest Galaxy devices due to its reliance on newer processors, will not be available on the Galaxy S22 series or the Galaxy S23 FE. This slight limitation aside, the roll-out is set to significantly enhance the capabilities of supported devices, aligning them closer to the newest models in Samsung’s lineup.

Looking Ahead

This update marks an important step for Samsung, as it not only enriches the feature set available to users of older models but also underscores the company’s dedication to maintaining a cohesive and innovative ecosystem across its product range. As May approaches, Galaxy users have much to look forward to as they anticipate the arrival of One UI 6.1 and the wealth of Galaxy AI features it brings.

Stay tuned for further updates and prepare your devices for an enhanced Galaxy experience coming your way next month.
