Service Engineer – Region 9 – North East London

We are in search of a seasoned, multi-skilled Engineer who can install, commission, and service fire detection and alarm systems, life safety systems, and security systems. This role demands adherence to current regulations and effective communication with the works department to guarantee best practices and the most cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in Systems: Possess deep knowledge of fire, life safety, and security control systems, along with the ability to install, commission, service, troubleshoot, and repair these systems.
  • Work Planning and Execution: Plan, implement, and complete work activities efficiently, ensuring all projects meet the required standards.
  • System Management: Oversee the installation and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems, life safety systems, or security systems. Adhere strictly to the manufacturer’s recommendations to maintain system integrity.
  • Cable Management: Skillfully identify all types of cables associated with the systems. Conduct accurate testing and terminate cable ends following the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Cable Containment Systems: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various cable containment systems, ensuring installations are both efficient and compliant with industry standards.
  • Project Communication: Guarantee that ‘as installed’ drawings match the finished project. Notify the project manager of any discrepancies observed to facilitate prompt adjustments.
  • Device Configuration: Proficiently add, remove, and edit devices on Gent systems to maintain system flexibility and efficiency.
  • Cause and Effect Software Development: Develop and diagnose Cause and Effect (C&E) software tailored for the relevant control equipment. Plan and execute comprehensive C&E tests as a crucial part of the Commissioning process.

These responsibilities underscore the dynamic nature of the Service Engineer role, requiring a blend of technical expertise and project management skills.
